Finding perspective and peace with age

Yep, it happened. Everyone said it would happen overnight and boy were they right. I had been resisting it for a while. You know, reaching the arm out just a bit further or backing my head up a bit. Then I had to reach further or back up more. I had heard there is no going back once you succumb to the use of cheaters, readers, glasses, whatever you want to call them. Sigh. You’ll have to have a pair everywhere. Well, I was determined to resist as long as possible. While at the dollar store a few months back, I did grab a couple of pairs just so I…

The Best Gift You Can Give Someone

What is the best gift you can give someone? Usually, the best gifts are things that are thoughtful and mean something special to the receiver. Many people put a lot of time and effort into gift giving. Some might think about what they really like to receive and try to do the same for someone else, while others don’t think too much of it because some people like receiving gifts more than others. Finding Gratitude

When I run, I typically find it’s the time I get my best ideas. Or, at least ideas. Maybe I’m the only one that thinks they are decent. Putting ourselves first

Sounds selfish, huh? Almost even proud, cocky or a “more important than you” mindset. However, it’s something I try to do almost every day. Hardly ever does it disrupt my family life or the necessity to keep 500 balls in the air at all times. It does, however, fill me up and also sends a message to my family that I’m important too and taking care of myself is important.  For me, it’s typically working out but I also consider date nights of the utmost importance. Years ago, I read an article that basically said you are doing your kids an injustice if you DON’T take care of yourself and…

What is the opposite of regret?

I’m too old. I’m too young. It’s already been done before. No one will read it. No one cares. I don’t have any unique ideas. I’m embarrassed. I’ve started countless times already and given up. I can think of a million reasons to NOT do something. Regret. It’s a word we all know too well. And there’s one word that seems to always go with regret. Not. Think about it. If you regret something, it’s usually because you’ve NOT done something.  Not taking advantage of… Not saying… Not doing… I don’t want to look back on my life with regret and while I’ve had plenty of it, I’ve learned a…
